Um, what do you know. I actually have a favorites post right after the month ends!
So anyway, it is August now with July behind us I have wittled down the things I tried/bought/reviewed in my head to five of my favorites!
1. LUSH Breath of Fresh Air Toner Spray
I have a funny story about buying this spray actually. I went into LUSH CONVINCED that another one of the toners would be perfect for me. Luckily, the kind LUSH employee informed me that the toners go according to skin concern. Struggle with dry skin? Pick up the Eau Roma Water (which is what I had). Oily? Pick up the Tea Tree Water. With my combo skin Kind LUSH Employee recommended this god send. And it has made my life at least 20% better.
Waking up? Spray this. Going to bed? Spray this. Hungover? Spray this. Gym? Spray this. Work? Spray this. Stay up late? SPRAY THIS.
If I could spray this on my life to make it glow and gleam as much as my skin after I use this I W O U L D. It’s cooling, moisturizing, and Breath of Fresh Air can even act as a make-up primer AND setting spray. Just try one of the toner sprays yourself if you don’t believe me.
2. See Through Sunnies
“Leighnah,” you might be wondering. “Why would I buy see through sunglasses? That’s pointless.”
Well let me tell you why!
If you, like me, love being extra and wearing your sunglasses indoors this look is for you. Additionally, a pair of colorful frames much like my seafoam green pair will brighten up any outfit. I love these glasses on days when it’s cloudy or when I want to call attention to my makeup. Two of my closest friends bought sunglasses that are see through after they saw the magic that is these glasses.
3. Glossier Balm Dotcom
Like many girls who live on Instagram, I have been obsessed with Glossier for awhile now. Thanks to one of my close friends who bought me the Birthday flavor(?) of this delightful lip product I am now in love.
While I recommend all kinds of the Balm Dotcom, I specifically loved the Birthday variety. It has a slight shimmer that makes your lips look plumped, a pretty gloss to it, and it smells AND tastes like birthday cake thanks to the partnership with the Milk Bar. If devilishly soft, sparkling, and plush lips are what you seek I highly recommend ordering this!
4. Soft, mauve bodysuits
Aerie and Marshalls
I was never big on bodysuits. I found that in order to fit my chest I would end up with a saggy one piece that never felt like it fully fit my body. I’d rather deal with tucking in my shirt over and over…or so I thought.
On a whim, I bought this v soft and v pretty Aerie bodysuit on sale (which it is still for $15). I was mainly drawn to the ruffled sleeves that can be worn both on the shoulder and off. However, upon trying it on I was in love. The bodysuit is true to size and incredibly soft. My only complaint is that it’s a bit see through when it stretches so beware, but for $15 I’m okay with that.
As for a night time version, I got this lace up bodysuit at Marshall’s for $12. It feels like suede minus the not so summer friendly heat of suede and fits excellently. Mauve bodysuits, they’re the new wave!
5. Adidas Sneakers
Unfortunately, I’m not sure what style the shoes I bought are exactly as I bought them on a whim at Marshall’s. However, I found the shoes in the link that look a lot like my pair!
I have never been a casual sneakers person as I’m usually found in heels trying to be taller than I am. Yet these CALLED to me when I saw them in the store. After trying them on and feeling their heavenly comfort, I was hooked.
I’ve paired these with t-shirt dresses, jeans and CK t-shirts, and black jeans and a white blouse. They’re surprisingly versatile, even for someone like me who has zero talent in mixing athletic things with my normal closet.
So there we have my July favorites! Stay tuned for Wednesday when I start my college series for the next week and a half or so where I share my tips, tricks, and sisterly advice on how to enjoy your college years!
